The Pulitzer Foundation for the Arts is asking the St. Louis community to donate their old lamps, lamp shades, lanterns, and light fixtures.
Help two international artists, Sebastian Hungerer and Rainer Kehres, create an outdoor installation for The Light Project, opening this fall. Your lamp will join others in helping to recreate the roof of the historic Spring church in Grand Center, which burned in 2001. This installation, along with those of three other artists featured in The Light Project, will open with a public reception on September 4th from 6-9pm.
This web page will document the stories behind each donated lamp, including photographs and a behind-the-scenes look at the collection process.
You can drop off your fixtures and fill out a short questionnaire about your lamp at these three different locations:
